switch to her cloak that gives +3 Perception = 14 if a dialogue requires 14 Perception and she has only 11+1 = 12, choose the 'Leave' option Wizard usually wears a +2 Intellect +1 Resolve amulet (which blocks the neck slot) A typical trick is to keep (don't sell!) a spare set of stat-boosting gear for the sole purpose of milking out an extra +1 to Resolve or Perception. You'll periodically pore over your party and swap their equipment around, because it's pointless for 1 character to get +2 Intellect from armor and +1 Intellect from a hat, since she gets only +2 total, and the hat is wasted on her. PoE stat bonuses from gear don't stack with each other you get only the highest single gear bonus per stat, and it suppresses all other gear bonuses to the same stat. So you can count on +2 or +3 to most stats from 1 gear each. That doesn't work well in PoE.īy L7 or so, you'll find enough magical gear to fill out most of all 6 heroes' paperdolls. Unfortunately, PoE has a newbie-pitfall that you might use your other-RPGs reflex and promptly dial your main tank hero down to 7 all mental and 18 all physical. Anyways, you can't possibly be high in every stat you want, so you'll have to decide. Rarely, Might (to bully/intimidate), and some skills such as Lore and Athletics, also give you more options. Resolve and Perception do get used a lot. (Of course, everybody does benefit from high stats' combat bonuses.) High stats on your other party members doesn't help you with the narrative. The narrative dialogue choices use your starting hero's stats and abilities (only). Yes and no :p It helps, but you can solve the game without it.
